Snoop Dogg has announced that he is to launch his own brand of cigars.

The rapper, who released his 11th studio album 'Doggumentary' last year, has named the brand of cigars as 'Executive Branch'. You can watch him discussing his plans for the cigars in a video by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

Explaining his plans, Snoop said in a statement: "Throughout my career I have been lucky enough to travel the world and try all different types of tobacco products. During my travels throughout South America and the Caribbean, I was fortunate to encounter this tobacco company, Executive Branch and was so impressed by their commitment to quality [far superior than all others]."

He continued: "In 2012, we plan on releasing new styles and flavours, in which I will be working with their team to make sure all products are up to Snoop Dogg standards."

Snoop Dogg is currently facing the prospect of a jail sentence after he was arrested in Texas for marijuana possession over the weekend.

The rapper was caught by a sniffer dog when his tourbus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca.

If convicted, Snoop Dogg could face up to 180 days in jail. The rapper has a prescription for cannabis in California, but there is a zero tolerance policy for the drug in Texas.
