Snoop Dogg has been banned from entering Norway for two years after being caught with marijuana.

The rapper was on his way to perform at the Hove festival when he was busted for possession of the drug by Kjevic Airport customs in Kristiansand last month (June 28). At the time, he was given a fine of 12,000 Norwegian Krone (£1277.52).

According to US gossip website TMZ, the rapper's lawyers say the ban has been enforced after he was caught in possession of eight grams of weed and a larger than allowed bundle of cash. The lawyer says Snoop "can live with the decision" and has no plans to appeal.

Snoop Dogg's affection for cannabis is well-documented, but his fondness for the drug has often landed him in hot water. In December last year, the rapper was sued by a Lebanese concert promoter for allegedly smoking weed in a Middle East club in 2009, and he was also arrested in Texas in January of this year after authorities searched his tour bus and found three prescription bottles filled with marijuana cigarettes.

Last week, Snoop Dogg released a new reggae-influenced track under a new moniker, and now goes by the name of Snoop Lion. You can listen to the track below.

An album of reggae songs, titled 'Reincarnated', will be released later this year on the Vice label and has been produced by MIA and Beyonce producer Diplo.
