Snoop Lion – the reggae alter-ego of Snoop Dogg – has unveiled the video for his single 'Lighters Up'.

The track features dancehall artists Mavado and Popcaan and the video was directed by Andy Capper, who is also behind the forthcoming Reincarnated documentary. Scroll down to watch the 'Lighters Up' video, which sees Snoop enjoying a smoke and wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with an image of Rastafarian figurehead Haile Selassie.

The feature-length documentary will arrive in UK cinemas on March 22, after premiering at SXSW in Austin, Texas. It follows Snoop Dogg's transformation into reggae singer Snoop Lion.

Reincarnated promises "unpredecented access" to Snoop as he visits Trench Town, the Jamaican ghetto recognised as the birthplace of reggae music, and records his new album, also called 'Reincarnated'.

The album, which has been executive produced by Major Lazer, is due for release this year.

Last month, Snoop Lion was accused by Bunny Wailer, former drummer in The Wailers, of "fraudulently" appropriating Rastafari culture during his transition from rap to reggae.

Snoop Dogg will headline this year's Bestival in his rap guise.

Other confirmed acts for the festival include Elton John, MIA, Bombay Bicycle Club, Franz Ferdinand, Merchandise, Peace, The Flaming Lips, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, Johnny Marr, The Knife, Tom Odell, Jessie Ware and Angel Haze.
