Snow Patrol opened their sell-out tour of the UK and Ireland with a triumphant hometown show in BELFAST last night (November 22).



The band – who this week sold the millionth copy of their breakthrough album ‘Final Straw’ in Britain – took to the stage in front of 2,000 fans at the Ulster Hall.



"This is fucking awesome for us," said emotional frontman Gary Lightbody. "Ten years it took to get up here. When we were kids we used to come and watch bands here. Thank you for coming."



Focusing on tracks from ‘Final Straw’, including ‘How To Be Dead’, ‘Wow’ and ‘Chocolate’, the biggest moment of the evening came, as expected, during the band’s crossover hit ‘Run’.


Snow Patrol play Belfast again tonight, with the sold out tour continuing as follows:
