Band forced to replace Martha Wainwright

Snow Patrol have replaced Martha Wainwright on their current UK and Irish tour.

Due to Wainwright’s studio commitments, the band have enlisted the services of Damien Rice co-singer Lisa Hannigan and long-time friend Miriam Kaufmann, who will perform current single ‘Set The Fire To The Third Bar’ for half the tour each. Wainwright guests on the recorded version.

The band's singer Gary Lightbody previously duetted with Hannigan on ‘Some Surprise’, which appears on an Oxfam charity album entitled The Cake Sale.

On a message posted on the band’s official site, Lightbody revealed they will perform a 21-song set, and have included Snow Patrol’s debut single ‘Starfighter Pilot’.

The tour carries on until December 23.

The dates are:

Birmingham NIA (November 28)
Manchester Evening News Arena (29)
Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (30)
Manchester G-Mex (December 14, 15)
Glasgow SECC (16)
London Wembley Arena (18, 19)
Belfast Odyssey Arena (21)
Dublin The Point (22, 23)
