Former Snow Patrol bassist Mark McClelland is set to return to the music with a new band Little Doses.

McClelland left Snow Patrol in early 2005 following alleged 'creative differences' between himself and frontman Gary Lightbody.

Little Doses features new bandmates Kirsten Ross and Michael Branagh.

McClelland said of the band’s formation: “We spent six months rehearsing and another six months playing without leaning on the projects we’d been involved in.”

Despite launching the new group, the bassist told The Daily Record that the fall-out from the breakup is “still ongoing”, claiming he was not properly credited for his songwriting contributions to the band’s breakthrough album, 2003's ’Final Straw’.

He said: “I co-wrote some of the songs and wasn’t getting recognition.”

Meanwhile his new band will will play Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh tonight (March 6).
