Snow Patrol announce Australian tour

Snow Patrol have announced their first ever arena tour of Australia, with seven shows scheduled for September.

The band will also play regional towns for the first time.

Frontman Gary Lightbody has already proclaimed his excitement about the trip, saying Australia was one of the band's “favourite places" to tour.

Support for the shows will come from indie rockers Silversun Pickups and former Snow Patrol member, Iain Archer.

They play the following dates

Sydney Acer Arena (September 7)
Newcastle Entertainment Centre (8)
Canberra AIS Arena (10)
Adelaide Entertainment Centre (12)
Melbourne Rod Laver Arena (17)
Brisbane Entertainment Centre (19)
Perth Burswood Dome (22)

Meanwhile, Snow Patrol are set to headline the Isle Of Wight festival this weekend (June 8).

NME.COM will be coming live from both the Isle Of Wight and Download festival sites this weekend, so stay tuned for exclusive news, blogs and pictures from both events.
