Tom Simpson doesn't appear in court

Snow Patrol keyboardist Tom Simpson did not appear in court to face a charge of cocaine possession today (July 31).

At the last hearing earlier this month, the keyboard player was told that he must appear before the court today.

Sheriff Iain Peebles did not ask where he was.

Simpson and co-accused Colin Kennedy, both 35 and from Glasgow, are accused of being in possession of cocaine in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, on June 24, 2006.

Sheriff Iain Peebles continued the case without plea until August 28 after a request from Simpson's lawyer.

The band is scheduled to headline the V Festival next month, reports Yahoo.
