Snow Patrol hail T In The Park as 'best weekend ever'

Snow Patrol wowed the large crowd on the Main Stage tonight (July 12) at T In The Park - and frontman Gary Lightbody hailed the festival as "the best weekend ever".

The band's co-headline slot, their sixth at the bash, was delayed an hour until 8pm (BST) to allow Graham Coxon more time to recover from an illness that threatened Blur's headline show.

The band played a set full of hits from their last three albums including 'Spitting Games', 'Chocolate' and 'Hands Open'.

Speaking before 2004 hit 'Run', Lightbody said: "I remember the first time I came to this festival I saw a guy, who must have had about 40,000 pints, pissing in a circle with loads of people watching and I thought, 'This festival is for me'."

The aforementioned 'Run' proved to be an anthem of T In The Park with the crowd singing every word of the mega hit.

But, it was 2006's 'Chasing Cars' that received the biggest reaction from the crowd with some fans in tears.

Lightbody also dedicated a song to Elbow, with the frontman declaring that the group were "the best band in the UK" before playing 'What If Thiss Storm Ends?'.
