SO SOLID'S G-MAN JAILED FOR FOUR YEARS

SO SOLID CREW rapper G-MAN - real name JASON PHILLIPS - has been jailed for four years after being found guilty of possessing a loaded handgun.


Reports from BBC News say that Phillips, 24, was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court, London. He denied possessing a weapon and dumping it nearby.


The charges arise from an incident in central London last year when the rapper was seen talking at the scene of a suspected drug deal on November 14 and 15.


During the trial, the court was told how Phillips looked "agitated and nervous" before running from plain clothes police officers.

The verdict comes days after fellow bandmate Kaish - Shane Neil - was cleared of drugs and gun charges after the case against him collapsed. It was revealed that the prosecution was built entirely on evidence from a lip-reader who observed Kaish talking on CCTV.


The rapper spent four months in London's Pentonville and Brixton prisons. So Solid's Asher D was sentenced to 18 months in jail last year, also for possessing a loaded firearm.
