Sonic Youth set for special July 4 show
They'll play at Battery Park in New York
Sonic Youth are gearing up for a special afternoon show on over the July 4 holiday weekend in New York City.
The band will perform at Battery Park as part of the River To River NYC series of events, which will also see performances this summer from A Place To Bury Strangers, Ted Leo And The Pharmacists and Dirty Projectors.
Meanwhile, Sonic Youth main man Thurston Moore is scheduled to read from his book ‘No Wave: Post-Punk. Underground. New York 1976-1980’ at Other Music in New York tomorrow evening.
The independent record store will host a reading, signing and release party for the book which was written by Moore and Byron Coley.
The event happens at Other Music, 15 East 4th at 6.30pm
