Rapper Soulja Boy has been arrested after police found drugs, weapons and cash in a vehicle in which he was travelling with four other people.

The arrest happened this morning (October 18) in Temple, Georgia. The rapper is still being held in jail, reports Rolling Stone.

The police have said that a “substantial amount” of marijuana as well as guns and money was found in the vehicle and have estimated the value of the drugs and money to be $70,000 (£44,763). They are currently investigating if the 21-year-old rapper or his travelling companions had licences for the guns.

In 2009, Soulja Boy was arrested following an incident at a video shoot in Georgia. The 'Crank That' star, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, was detained and charged with obstruction after police were called to an abandoned house following complaints about an apparent party.

Soulja Boy is currently working on his fourth studio album, 'Respect My Hustle', which is set for release at the start of next year.
