US rapper Soulja Boy was arrested on gun charges yesterday (January 22).

The rapper, who released his latest album 'The DeAndre Way' in 2010, was reportedly in a car that was pulled over after failing to stop at a stop sign in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, reports CNN. Police officials who pulled the car over are then alleged to have seen that Soulja Boy was carrying a weapon. Upon further review, the weapon was a loaded gun.

Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, was booked into a San Fernando Valley jail, but freed after posting a $35,000 (£21,000) on the same day.

Way was arrested on felony weapons and drug charges in October 2011 following a traffic stop by police in Georgia. Reports at the time revealed that police said found a "felony amount" of marijuana and firearms in his vehicle.

Soulja Boy released six mixtapes in 2013, including the most recent 'The King'
