SPACE PLAY 'BALL IN LONDON

SPACE are expected to premiere material from their forthcoming album at a one-off show at LONDON SHEPHERD'S BUSH EMPIRE on July 27.

The show precedes the band's new album 'Love You More Than Football', which is also scheduled for release next month (July). The 14-track album is the follow-up to 1998's 'Tin Planet', and contains bassist Yorkie's songwriting debut, plus four songs written by guitarist Jamie Murphy.

Speaking previously to nme.com, vocalist Tommy Scott said that the majority of the album's tracks are two-and-a-half-minute love songs. He said: "Every song used to be about psychopaths and killing people. This one is a lot more personal, though we still kill the odd person!"

The album is partially produced by Edwyn Collins and was recorded at the band's Space Station studios in Liverpool.

In addition, Space release a new single, 'Diary Of A Wimp', on June 19 through Gut. A sample of the single can be heard at the Gut Records website, www.gut.co.uk
