Spandau Ballet announce details of reunion tour Spandau Ballet Tickets

The '80s band return after 20 years apart

Spandau Ballet have announced details of their UK and Irish reunion tour.

The band, who split up in 1989 after scoring 17 UK Top 40 hits that decade, have announced eight dates, kicking off in Dublin on October 13.

The reformation was announced on board the HMS Belfast ship on the Thames by Tower Bridge in London, where the band played one of their earliest gigs in 1980.

Introducing the five-piece, broadcaster and long-time champion Robert Elms said the notorious show "was where the '80s started".

Although only UK and Irish shows have been announced, the tour will go worldwide, with more dates to be announced soon.

The dates are as follows:

Dublin O2 (October 13)
Belfast Odyssey Arena (14)
Sheffield Arena (16)
Glasgow SECC (17)
London O2 Arena (20)
Birmingham NEC (24)
Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (26)
Manchester MEN Arena (28)

Spandau Ballet famously split in amidst much acrimony in 1989, and a bitter feud over songwriting royalties ended up in the High Court in 1999.

Singer Tony Hadley, who along with drummer John Keeble and saxophonist Steve Norman lost the case, did not speak to brothers Gary and Martin Kemp for a number of years - but they have now set aside their differences.

Hadley said: "Time is a great healer. We met in the pub, had a few beers and realised we were great mates."

Martin Kemp added: "Families go through terrible times sometimes."

The band also praised current band such as The Killers, MGMT and Florence And The Machine.
