Spank Rock to play Disco D tribute show

Event honoring the late producer to take place in Brooklyn

Spank Rock have been confirmed to play a show honoring the memory of producer Disco D, who died last month.

The producer, whose real name was Dave Shayman, was known for his work with 50 Cent and Trick Daddy, as well as his remixes of the likes of Pharrell Williams, Shiny Toy Guns and Usher.

He committed suicide aged 27, he had suffered from depression.

The show will include DJ sets from Stretch Armstrong, DJ Funk and Derek Plaslaiko as well as headliner Spank Rock. Proceeds from the event will go to the Neutral Zone, a teen centre offering programmes related to music and music production.

Tribute to Disco D takes place on February 21 at Studio B in Brooklyn.
