TOM WAITS FOR NO MAN (EXCEPT MARK LINKOUS)

'It's A Wonderful Life' is out in June...

SPARKLEHORSE have revealed details of their new album, 'IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE', which includes contributions from TOM WAITS, POLLY HARVEY and THE FLAMING LIPS' and MERCURY REV producer DAVE FRIDMANN.

Written by Mark Linkous, who sang, played guitar, Wurlitzer, mellotron, Casio, optigan, samplers and drum machines among other instruments, it was co-produced and mixed by Fridmann and John Parish, who also played various instruments.

They were joined by Harvey, Nina Persson, Waits, who receives the only co-writing credit on the album track 'Dog Door' and Sparklehorse regular Scott Minor on drums.

Linkous, who has previously supported Radiohead, takes his show on the road to premiere the new tracks next week, with UK shows at London Borderline on April 9, 10 and 11.

The touring line-up, which he describes as his "new touring pop group", includes Margaret White (violin, bass, keyboards), Al Weatherhead (guitar, pedal steel, keyboards), Kendall Meade (aka Mascott, keyboards, bass) and Minor (drums).

'It's A Wondeful Life' follows on June 11.
