MOBY SEEKS AUDIENCE WITH SOPHIE

MOBY has approached SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR with a view to collaborating on new material when he returns to the studio, NME.COM can reveal.

Speaking exclusively to NME.COM, Moby said that he was smitten by former theaudience singer turned solo star's vocal talent after hearing her chart-topping collaboration with Spiller, 'Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)'.

"I can't get the song out of my head, it's brilliant," he said. "I think Sophie's got an amazing voice and I would really love to work with her. I think it's her voice that makes the track."

He continued: "I've instructed my record company to track her down and maybe we could work together when I've finished touring."

Sophie is reported to be collaborating with Blur bassist Alex James on her new solo material and a number of other musicians and songwriters have been approached to be involved with the project. However, no release date has yet been announced by Polydor, her new label.

Moby has also announced details of a warm-up show prior to his appearance on New Year's Eve at Edinburgh Castle.

As previously revealed on NME.COM, Moby is to headline the annual New Year's Eve celebrations in the grounds of Edinburgh Castle on December 31. That show, which has a capacity of 8,000, has now sold out.

Now, he will play a one-off show at the Dublin Point on December 29. Tickets for the show are available now.
