ILLNESS DELAYS SPIRITUALIZED ALBUM

But the group's UK festival shows go ahead...

SPIRITUALIZED have delayed work on their next studio album so drummer KEVIN BALES can recover from leukaemia.

Last weekend, the group were forced to pull a Norwegian festival appearance at the Olyafestivalen in Oslo because of Bales' illness.

After returning from Fuji Rock in Japan and a tour of Australia he felt unwell and was admitted for tests. He is now in Nottingham recovering from leukaemia.

The group were due to commence work on their new album in September following their appearances at the Carling Weekend festivals in Reading and Leeds and the Gig On The Green show at the end of the month. However, those sessions will be postponed.

Their UK dates will go ahead as planned however, as Spiritualized have recruited Chris Davis, drummer from Nottingham band [a][/a], to play the shows.
