Gigs will also feature strings and a choir

Spiritualized have announced a fully acoustic tour.

Frontman and songwriter Jason Pierce will be accompanied by a string quartet, a gospel choir and Spiritualized guitarist Doggen on keyboards at the gigs, set to take place in April.

The group will be performing songs by Spiritualized and Pierce’s former group Spacemen 3, as well as a selection of covers.

The acoustic version of the group will also be supporting Massive Attack on their February tour, and will appear at the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in April.

Pierce is currently mixing the band’s new album, the follow-up to 2003’s ‘Amazing Grace’.

The tour calls at:

Glasgow Academy (April 23)
Leeds City Varieties (24)
Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall (25)
London Shepherd’s Bush Empire (26)
Minehead Butlins All Tomorrow’s Parties (28)
