Spoon to play benefit for Texas Democrats

The Austin rockers will perform in their hometown

Spoon have announced that they will perform a benefit concert in support of Democratic candidates in their home state of Texas.

The Austin rockers are set to perform on October 13 at Austin's Parish. Proceeds from the show will benefit Texas Democrats and the campaign of Mark Thompson, Democratic candidate for the office of Railroad Commissioner.

Tickets are currently on sale via the band's website Spoontheband.com.

This show will reportedly be one of the band's final appearances before they head into the recording studio to work on the follow-up to last year's 'Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga'.
