St Vincent is set to record a song for the new series of Boardwalk Empire.

Justin Townes Earle will also be recording a song from the 1910s or 1920s for the show this week in Los Angeles, however both artists have missed the chance to be included on the first official soundtrack of the HBO show, which is out now and features songs from Regina Spektor and Martha Wainwright.

Adam Green - pictured right - and New York Dolls frontman David Johansen have also recorded songs for the show, which are not included on the album, reports Billboard.com.

Regina Spektor has covered Fanny Brice's 1921 hit 'My Man' for 'Boardwalk Empire Volume 1: Music From The HBO Original Series', while Martha Wainwright sings 'All By Myself'. Other musicians which feature on the album include Martha's father Loudon Wainwright III and Nellie McKay.

The second series of the Prohibition-era gangster drama airs on US screens on September 25. Sky Atlantic are set to broadcast the show in the UK in October.
