STAIND - MASSIVE

'Break The Cycle' has shifted over 700,000 "units"...

STAIND - MASSIVE

STAIND, the band who have emerged on the back of support from LIMP BIZKIT's FRED DURST, are set to knock TOOL from the top of the US album chart next week (June 9) with one of the biggest first week sales of any album this year.

The group have shifted 716,000 copies of 'Break The Cycle', their second major-label release, falling just 16,000 short of the Dave Matthews Band's 'Everyday', released in March, but bettering both Destiny's Child and Janet Jackson who have also scored high in first weeks recently.

Much of Staind's success is put down to the high radio rotation play of their single, 'Outside', featuring Durst, who also directed the video, on vocals.

Tool's 'Lateralus', which went straight to the top of this week's chart (week ending June 2) will drop to Number Two, with sales of 198,000. This week's second highest new entry, Missy Elliott's 'Miss E... So Addictive', will drop from Two to Five, Destiny's Child will hold onto their Number Three place, one ahead of what will be next week's second highest new entry, Redman's 'Malpractise'.

Further down the chart there will be entries for Static X with 'Machine', Bon Jovi with their live album, 'One Wild Night: Live 1985-2001' and Christian rock group Avalon with 'Oxygen'.

Staind play the Evening Session Stage at this year's Carling Weekend Festival at Reading and Leeds.
