SHOCK SUCCESS FOR STARSAILOR!

The band score an unlikely success across the pond...

STARSAILOR have become unlikely chart stars in France – selling records in volumes that would make them chart-toppers back home.

The four-piece went to Number One across the channel just before Christmas with a Jacques Le Cont remix of single ‘Four To The Floor’. The track has topped sales of 400,000. Such sales would easily outstrip any other releases in Britain.

The success of the single has upped demand for album ‘Silence Is Easy’ amongst Gallic fans. It has been re-released and has sold 50% more than in the previous 18 months of release.

"It’s really great. It has come totally out of the blue," said frontman James Walsh. "I always knew the French were a nation with really great taste."

Walsh also revealed that he has a bank of songs ready for the band’s third album. They will start recording in mid-spring, though there is no release date yet.
