Steven Malkmus And The Jicks have been confirmed to perform at the 2007 PLUG Awards in New York City.

It is the only performance scheduled in the city for the ex-Pavement frontman, who is being honored with the ‘Impact’ award at the event.

Hosted by 'Arrested Development' comedian David Cross[/b], the event is being held to celebrate independent music in the US, and each act performing will play 20-40 minute sets throughout the evening.

Up-and-coming acts Tokyo Police Club, Silversun Pickups and [a]Deerhoof are also scheduled to perform sets on the night.

Acts nominated for PLUG awards this year include Hot Chip, Grizzly Bear, The Knife and Joanna Newsom.

At this year’s ceremony, the Flaming Lips were awarded the Impact Award, while Sufjan Stevens was among the performers.

The 2007 awards will take place February 10 at Irving Plaza in New York City.
