Stephen Malkmus unveils new album title
Ex-Pavement frontman and his band The Jicks return
Stephen Malkmus and his band The Jicks have revealed the title of their forthcoming album.
The former Pavement frontman’s record, set for release in March 2008, is to be titled ‘Real Emotional Trash’.
The posting on the singer’s website also cryptically says ‘one hour of us – too much for my mirror?’ – presumably a Captain Beefheart-referencing remark on the length of the forthcoming album.
Malkmus also confirms the band’s touring plans on the post, saying: “It will be officially released in March. With a tour of the USA co-in-side-ing. And probably so[me] Euro/Asian dates after that.”
The singer was the frontman of alt-rock legends Pavement until their split in 2000 – since then, he has released three solo records, ‘Stephen Malkmus’, ‘Pig Lib’ and ‘Face The Truth’.
