Stephen Malkmus, Shins man for Portland school benefit
The rockers support the arts in their hometown
Stephen Malkmus and The Shins' frontman James Mercer are set to play a benefit concert for a Portland elementary school this spring.
The event is set to take place April 11-12 at Portland's Buckman Elementary School, reports Pitchfork.
The Buckman Bash will benefit the school, with proceeds going toward its Arts Focus programmes, which emphasise an arts-integrated curriculum.
Meanwhile, Malkmus is preparing to release his new album 'Real Emotional Trash' on March 4, as previously reported.
