Steps score a Number One album with new compilation 'The Ultimate Collection'

Steps have celebrated their reunion with a UK Number One album, after their new 'Best Of' compilation 'The Ultimate Collection' debuted at Number One today (October 16).

The reunited pop group held off competition from Ed Sheeran, who moved up three places to Number Two with his debut album '+', with Adele down one place to Number Three with her monstrously successful record '21'.

There were six new entries in the Top 10, with Evanescence entering at Number Four with their new self-titled album, Katherine Jenkins in at Number Six, Jason Derulo at Number Seven, Ryan Adams at Number Nine and Cliff Richard's new soul album 'Soulicious' at Number 10.

Bjork debuted at Number 21 with her latest album 'Biophalia', while Radiohead's new remix album 'TKOL 1234567' entered at Number 34.

In the singles race, Rihanna held on to the top spot for a second week with 'We Found Love', her collaboration with Calvin Harris, with Maroon 5 remaining at Number Two with 'Moves Like Jagger'. The highest new entry came from Gym Class Heroes who got to Number Three with their comeback single 'Stereo Hearts', while Christina Perri climbed eight places to Number Four with 'Jar Of Hearts'.

LMFAO are at Number Five with 'Sexy And I Know It', but X Factor winner Matt Cardle scored a disappointing Number Six with his new single 'Run For Your Life'. Charlene Soraia is at Number Seven with her version of The Calling's 'Wherever You Will Go', while the original version is also back in the charts, re-entering at Number 25.

Ed Sheeran is also back in the Top 10 with 'The A Team', which is one of three tracks he has in the UK Top 40.
