JANE'S AND STEREO MC'S GET 'CONNECTED'

The tour will form part of the 'Jubilee' festival...

STEREO MC'S plan to join a re-formed JANE'S ADDICTION on a mini-tour of the US in August, NME.COM can reveal.

The tour will form part of the 'Jubilee' festival organised by Jane's frontman Perry Farrell.

Nick Hallam of the Stereo MC's has confirmed that the band was asked by
Jane's Addiction to join the travelling mini-festival, as were Weezer and grunge-rockers Live.

Weezer and the Stereo MC's were set to be bill-mates already this year, at T In The Park festival in Balado, Scotland, but Weezer cancelled due to video-shoot commitments for their new single, 'Island In The Sun'.

Stereo MC's released 'Deep Down And Dirty', this year, their first studio album in 9 years. The previous record, 'Connected', was a worldwide success, but founder-members Hallam and Rob Birch blamed the subsequent hectic touring schedule for the long period of creative frustration which ensued.

The Jane's Addiction reunion tour kicks off in Cleveland on August 14 and runs until October 12, with the final date taking place in West Palm Beach, Florida. Stereo MC's Hallam welcomed the deliberate eclecticism of the tour's line-up: "It's more rewarding to see people get off on different [types of music] than to play with bands with a lot in common."
