Stereophonics are set to play the first gig at the new Cardiff City Stadium.

The concert will take place on June 5 at the newly-built home of the football club Cardiff City.

"We want to make it a day to make Welsh people proud," said frontman Kelly Jones of the show. "We will be the first band to play the stadium and we love breaking in venues, even dating back to 1993, being the first band playing the Ivy Bush in Cwmaman!"

Tickets go on sale at 9am (GMT) on Friday (January 22). To check the availability of Stereophonics tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
