Stuart Cable's band Killing For Company have announced their first gig since the drummer's death in June.

The band, who Cable drummed for after leaving Stereophonics, will play Pontardawe Festival in Swansea Valley on August 19. The festival was a favourite of the drummer and his partner Rachel Jones, who is also the band's agent.

Chiefs for the festival, which runs until August 22, have opted to open the event a day earlier to accommodate Killing For Company. The entire day's schedule on August 19 will be dedicated to Cable. Mongazer and Ragged School will also play.

Festival chairman Paul Fjaelberg said: "Stuart was a renowned champion of young musicians, and in honour of this we have booked Moongazer and Ragged School, two rising stars of the Welsh music scene, to precede Killing For Company's appearance."

Cable's place at the drumkit will be taken by former Catatonia sticksman Aled Richards.

A collection for two of Cable's favourite charities, the Teenage Cancer Trust and T? Hafan, will also be made. See Pontardawefestival.com for more information.

Cable was found dead at his home in Aberdare in the early hours of June 7.
