Stone Temple Pilots have postponed a series of tour dates in the US.

The band have pushed back 10 dates in Texas, Oklahoma, and the southeast of America, and will resume touring on October 8 at Tampa Saint Pete Times Forum.

The move comes after singer Scott Weiland made a bizarre announcement onstage last Sunday (September 19) at Houston Woodlands Pavilion, footage of which you can watch below.

"The eighth of December will be the time when I stopped doing dope," he said. "I started drinking again. I got divorced from my wife and my whole world basically spun around. So I'm going to take care of myself because that's what I need to take care of."
