The Streets

It’s a 20 minute record breaker

The Streets are set to enter the record books by making the longest ever music video.

The 20 minute promo, for an as yet untitled new track, is set to beat Michael Jackson who previously held the record for the longest video with his 13 minute classic ’Thriller’.

The video, which was directed by Mystery Jets video maker Alistair Siddons, is set to be aired on August 1.

The video was shot to celebrate MTV’s 25th birthday. It features footage shot by five viewers who were given a video camera and told to shoot whatever they liked.

Mike Skinner used the footage to inspire the new track.

“I have been blown away by creativity and imaginations of the young people involved," he said. "We have watched hours of videos in order to find the most interesting and intriguing content for this epic work.”

The various footage shot includes a week on the trail of Glasgow’s Strathclyde Police, a spoof about cheerleading and an investigation of Bigfoot.
