The Streets man praises pal's contribution to new single
Mike Skinner has told NME.COM he’s “proud” of the verse Pete Doherty added to his band The Streets’ ‘Prangin’ Out’.
Babyshambles frontman Doherty added his vocals to the single version of the song from The Streets’ third album, ‘The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living’.
Lines included: ”Through a tabloid crossword nailed/Junkie rocker hailed”, as well as comments about feeling suicidal when he wakes up too “minging” to perform for fans.
However despite recording together, the pair only met for the first time to discuss the track at NME's request (pictured).
“It was really poetic," said Skinner told the Babyshambles singer of their collaboration. "I was a little surprised because I don’t know much about your private life, you know, I’ve speculate...but I don’t know what to say really...I was proud.”
Responding to the Streets praise, Doherty admitted: “It was better drugs counselling than a month in The Priory. I shouldn’t say that, but it’s probably true. And it was a cracking tune as well.”
