The Strokes reveal Euro tour details

The Strokes have spoken out about their secret European club tour.

The band will kick off the dates on Monday (November 14) in Tokyo before heading to Sydney, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Berlin, Milan and Madrid until mid December, giving fans a taste of their eagerly awaited third album, ‘First Impressions Of Earth’.

"We'll do eight new songs and leave, just like how it was with the first record, with no one knowing any of our music," guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. explained. “We thought it would build some excitement."

As previously reported on NME.COM, a source close to the band revealed that the London secret show is scheduled for the end of this month.

The intimate jaunt will then head out to North America the week ‘First Impressions Of Earth’ album comes out in the US (January 3) with shows being lined up for New York, Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles.

The Strokes' full UK and North American tours will then kick off in February.

Hammond has also said that he is looking forward to debuting the band’s new song ‘Ask Me Anything’, which features only singer Julian Casablancas, backed by guitarist Nick Valensi playing a Mellotron.

However, he admits that The Strokes are unlikely to perform the track on the upcoming club trek.

"When we start the main touring, we're definitely going to throw that song in," he told Billboard. "It will be a nice break from all the loud music."

Despite having the next year and a half of his life planned out promoting the album, Hammond explains that he has got used to it, saying: “At the same time, this has been my life for six years. I like it. I know what's going on, and then after (each tour leg), I have three weeks to hang out somewhere and not think about anything."

The Strokes release their new album 'First Impressions Of Earth' in the UK on January 2, preceded by a single 'Juicebox' on December 5.
