A NEW SUEDE!

The band will follow up their forthcoming hits compilation with a "beast" of a new LP...

A NEW SUEDE!

SUEDE's next studio album will be more aggressive than the last, according to singer BRETT ANDERSON.

The band have already started work on the follow-up to 2002's 'A New Morning', though a greatest hits compilation will be released ahead of the brand new record.

Anderson said of the new material on the band's official website suede.net : "Most of the new material is more aggressive and less song based than 'A New Morning'. We're spending a lot of time working on tracks that sound nothing like traditional Suede.

"There's a kind of electronic reggae thing called ‘Attitude’, an insane metallic robot march called ‘Golden Gun’ and a punky thrash called ‘I Don't Need A High’. I needed to write something as soulful as ‘A New Morning’ at the time but now that's out of my system and it's time to release the beast."

Another new song, entitled 'Love The Way You Love' looks likely to be the band's new single, and will feature on the greatest hits set. Anderson describes the track as "A disco-punk song, kind of like one long brutal, metallic chant."

As well as a Pyramid Stage appearance at Glastonbury on June 27, the band also have an authorised biography on the way this year, written by long-term associate David Barnett, who has been quoted as saying: "It's going to make 'No One Here Gets Out Alive' look like Enid Blyton."

Anderson revealed: "He is a good writer. He's had intimate and personal access to the band and is privy to the kind of secrets that will blow people's minds. I have spilled my guts for this bio so the last thing I want is some nice, neat piece of PR bullshit. With David in charge I am convinced it will be compelling."
