SUEDE BACK ON 'TRACK!

'FAR FROM CHINA', the CS LEIGH film featuring original music written and performed by SUEDE, will get its world premiere at the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL in May next year, NME.COM can reveal.

The project is now complete following filming in Copenhagen, Oslo and Paris. The original score for the film is written and performed by Suede, including various instrumental pieces. New track 'Simon' is also the theme to the film.

Speaking previously to NME.COM about the film, singer Brett Anderson said 'Simon' would be recorded with Sigur Ros producer Ken Thomas, with keyboardist Neil Codling recording the incidental music "in his studio at home".

The plot of 'Far From China' deals with a respected writer's struggle to make peace with her political activist father's legacy, and to build a positive future for herself. The film features Aurelia Thierree as the main character, with a supporting cast including Marianne Faithfull.

In other Suede news, the forthcoming album from Stina Nordenstam, which features guest vocals from Anderson, looks set for a Spring 2001 release. He contributes vocals to 'Trainsurfing' and 'Keen Yellow Planet' - which is being earmarked as a future single.
