Sugababes set to boycott Brit Awards

Band say people who choose 'don't know what they are talking about'

Sugababes set to boycott Brit Awards

Sugababes are so fed up of being snubbed by the Brit Awards they are considering boycotting the 2009 ceremony.

The girl group, who despite being nominated six times have only ever gone home with one for Best Dance Act in 2003, are so annoyed they have said that if things don't change they will stay at home rather than attending the bash.

Keisha Buchanan said: "I say this in the most humble way but when you think of pop bands the Sugababes are definitely up there. I'm proud that Gordon Brown is recognising us (they were guests at the the British Prime Minister's London home last week), but why not the Brits?

She added: "We're British for God's sake - and we've done well. Surely we deserve an award after all the hard work we've done?"

Speaking to the Daily Mirror bandmate Amelle Berrabah said: "I'm telling you, if they don't nominate us this year, that's it, I'm done. I'm not going."

She concluded saying: "They should sack all those old men on the board and leave it to the fans to decide. They don't know what they are talking about."

Next year's event takes place at London's Earls Court venue on February 18.
