Foo Fighters stars reform Sunny Day Real Estate for debut UK gig

Sunny Day Real Estate have announced details of their first ever UK gig, set to take place this April.

The band, who feature current Foo Fighters bassist Nate Mendel and former band drummer William Goldsmith, play London's HMV Forum on April 22 as part of what will be a European tour.

Speaking of the reunion, Mendel revealed that the band are also likely to release new material. "I don't think any of us really ever considered, much less believed it possible, that we would ever get together and make music again," he said. "So it is incredible that we're getting a chance to come over to the UK and play.

"We are genuinely grateful that there exists a large enough store of goodwill toward the band to allow us to finally make it over there, and we plan on doing anything we can to make it a memorable trip."

Tickets for the gig go on sale this Friday (January 29) at 10am (GMT).
