SUPER FUNK!

The band plan a change of sound...

SUPERGRASS have revealed that their next studio album may have a "funkier" sound.

The band, who release 'Supergrass Is Ten - the Best of 94 to 04' on June 7, plan to return to the studio after completing their UK tour.

"We recorded a couple of new songs in January for the 'Supergrass Is Ten' Best Of, including the new single 'Kiss Of Life'," frontman Gaz Coombes explained. "We were restless in the studio with ants in our pants and were stuck for a direction, so we just stripped it down and funked it out."

He told XFM: "Whether that sound will stick around for our next studio album, we'll have to see," he continued. "There's always been elements of that sound in there and we're keen to get going on another record as soon as possible. We don't like to leave big gaps between albums."

New single 'Kiss Of Life' will be released on May 24.
