UK rapper is also working with Pharrell Williams

Akon has signed Sway to his Kon Live label in the US.

The deal means that the UK release of Sway's new album 'Signature' has been put back to October 6 to allow the two artists to collaborate on the track 'Silver And Gold', reports BBC News.

Speaking of the deal, Sway heaped praise on the success of UK female artists for getting him noticed in the US.

He said: "The girls have opened the doors for us - like Lily Allen, Estelle, Leona Lewis, Amy Winehouse. The girls have gone over there and smashed it on a singing level. And now it's time for the rappers to move in."

The grime star also announced that he is working on new material with Pharrell Williams.

Hip-Hop and R&B Music? I'd rather lick boils off Roman Abramovic's backside whilst listening to a 12 disc Genesis box set.
