Swedish House Mafia have compared themselves to The Beatles.

The dance titans, who consist of DJs Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello, have spoken about their wish to collaborate with Paul McCartney after he stopped by to watch their performance at this summer's Coachella Festival and compared their musical output to that of the Liverpool legends.

Band member Ingrosso spoke about how he admired McCartney, who he called "the biggest musical legend today living on this planet", and added that he felt he and his bandmates had a lot in common with the Fab Four.

He told Rolling Stone: "I think the Beatles made something that's kind of melancholic to sad and happy combined, and that's just amazing. I kind of analyse music a lot, and I think that what the Beatles have done is what we do today. It doesn't matter that we do dance music."

Swedish House Mafia will return to the UK to play a huge outdoor show next month, headlining the 65,000 capacity Milton Keynes Bowl on July 14.
