Nine people suffered injuries after being stabbed during Swedish House Mafia's show in Dublin on Saturday (July 7).

The gig, which took place in the city's Phoenix Park, was marred after a series of tragic incidents. One man is understood to have stabbed up to four people, with the other five being injured during a fracas involving broken bottles and knives. Three of the victims were seriously injured, with one left in a critical condition.

According to BBC News, a 23-year old man has been arrested and charged with four stabbings, while police are investigating the other incidents. As well as this, a 20-year old man also died at the show after taking a suspected drug overdose.

Speaking about the incidents, Denis Desmond, MD of concert promoters MCD, who put on the show, said: "Ticket holders entering the site were subject to a search permissible by law. Every precaution, as far as possible, was taken to ensure the safety and security of the audience at all times. Despite our best efforts – with security and gardaí personnel levels well in excess of the required numbers for a licensed event of this size – there is only so much one can do to combat anti-social behaviour."

Approximately 30 people were also arrested and bailed after being charged with assault, drugs and public order offences during the gig, which also featured Tinie Tempah and Calvin Harris on its line-up.

Swedish House Mafia are currently completing their farewell tour.
