Cold War Kids wow crowd at SXSW

Cold War Kids performed their official South By Southwest showcase last night for a capacity crowd at La Zona Rosa tonight (March 15).

Opening with ‘We Used to Vacation’, the band were warmly received by the Austin audience, as they made their way through an eight-song set.

Single ‘Hang Me Up to Dry’ received a rapturous reception, as did ‘Change Gonna Come’ which they performed with former tour mates Elvis Perkins In Dearland.

Speaking to NME.COM after the show drummer Matt Aveiro said performing with them was the most best thing about the festival so far this year.

"Seeing Elvis Perkins was the most special thing about this year," he declared. "The amount of people in bands and trailers is not what’s special."

They played:

‘We Used to Vacation’
‘Passing the Hat’
‘QP’
‘Hospital Beds’
‘Every Valley Is Not A Lake’
‘Hang Me Up To Dry’
‘Change Gonna Come’
‘St. John’
