Albert Hammond Jr previews new material at SXSW

Solo Stroke also covers Frank Black in Austin

Albert Hammond, Jr. closed day three of South By Southwest on Friday (March 16) with a late night gig in Austin.

The singer performed a 2am show at the exclusive Blender Magazine party, a star-studded invite-only affair.

Several of Hammonds celebrity pals came out in support of their friend, including Hollywood actress Kirsten Dunst, Lizzie Jagger and actor Danny Masterson.

Johnny Borrell, The Horrors and Har Mar Superstar also showed up to see the solo Strokes guitarist perform his final show of the festival.

Opening with a brand new track ‘In My Room’, Hammond performed a 12 song set including covers of Frank Black’s ‘Old Black Dawning’ and Guided By Voices' ‘Postal Blowfish’.
