SXSW gossip: Kings Of Leon go gigging, Winona Ryder's lookalike
Going to see MGMT at Rio was a bit like walking down London’s Camden high street, with the British indie glitterati out in force. If they could get in, that is. Florence of Florence And The Machine had to sneak in members of Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong with the aid of BBC Radio One’s Steve Lamacq.

Inside the venue Lightspeed Champion’s Dev Hynes was still wearing his huge furry hat, despite the immense heat (and the fact that by now it could do with dry cleaning, really).

Radio 1’s Huw Stephens was also checking out MGMT, while later in the evening his colleague Zane Lowe had trouble finding the gents while he checked out The Wombats at Maggie Mae’s, although a helpful security guard pointed him in the right direction before anything nasty happened.

Yeasayer proved a popular draw, with Kings Of Leon’s Nathan Followill seeing the band’s show at The Parish, sticking around to see Vampire Weekend too.

Edward Larrikin of The Pan I Am also checked out Yeasayer, and according to a reveller “looked like Winona Ryder”.

James Ford enjoyed drinks with The Rascals at Beaty Bar, while the night before (March 12) Miles Kane, singer in the aforementioned band, saw The Kills at Antone’s.

Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man got about a bit, joining their London friends for MGMT at Rio, but had to lug their equipment through the streets in the early hours among the drunk revellers.
