The Cribs get SXSW day three to a rocking start
The Jarmans kick off proceedings at La Zona Rosa
The Cribs kicked off today’s musical entertainment at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas with a rollocking set at the La Zona Rosa venue.
The Jarman brothers began a high-octane set at 1pm (CMT), playing to a busy crowd that included Kate Nash, girlfriend of singer Ryan Jarman who will play a SXSW set of her own tomorrow (March 15) at a magazine party.
The band kicked off their set with recent single ’Don’t You Wanna Be Relevant’ and followed it up with a blast of fast-paced numbers including ’Our Bovine Public’ and ’Hey Scenesters’
After playing ’Moving Pictures’ Ryan Jarman joked that he and his band nearly didn’t find the venue, as they couldn’t roll their Rs to tell the cab driver where they were going.
Later in the set Jarman kicked his mic stand from under him and scraped his guitar against his amp, while earlier on in the set drummer Ross Jarman had mounted his drum kit as he bashed the drums.
The Cribs played:
’Don’t You Wanna Be Relevant’
‘Our Bovine Public’
‘Hey Scenesters’
‘Moving Pictures’
‘Men’s Needs’
‘I’m A Realist’
‘Ancient History’
