The seasiders play their first-ever SXSW

These New Puritans kicked off NME's South by Southwest party today (March 14) with a screeching set upstairs at the Wave.

The four-piece from Southend-on-Sea got on well in the sweltering sun at one of their first-ever gigs at the Austin festival.

Frontman Jack Barnett wore a shirt made of chainmail despite the heat and the band displayed tremendous energy, with bassist Thomas Hein drumming alongside drummer George Barnett on their final song 'Infiniti Ytinifni'.

The band played several tracks off of their debut album 'Beat Pyramid', which came out in the US just last month.

The band played:

'Ew Phdier'
'Swords Of Truth'
'Numbers'
'Elvis'
'FFF'
'Doppelganger'
'Infinity Ytinifni'

Hardcore punks Fucked Up from Toronto, Canada are set to play next, with Brooklyn's Holy Ghost to follow.
