Band shed their shirts in the sweltering heat

Los Campesinos! have played an afternoon gig today (March 14) at the Ceder Street Courtyard as part of this year's SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.

The Cardiff band played in the sweltering heat, with two of the band members having to go topless to battle the temperature.

"We're from Cardiff, in Wales, which is near England," frontman Gareth Campesinos! told the American crowd before playing "This Is How...".

"We never have it this hot," added keyboardist Aleksandra Campesinos!.

Gareth Campesinos! peeled off his shirt later in the set, saying: "Anyone who's taking photos, I'm going to be confiscating film on the way out," before noting that he was 'jealous' of drummer Ollie Campesinos!'s 'toned and muscly' stomach, which was also exposed.

"I've got it easy," the singer told NME.COM after the show, referring to the heat. "All I do is sing. It's much hotter having to play drums or guitar. Everything was running late and our equipment was broken, but we got through it. Dodgy gear helps us with our performance!"

Los Campesinos! played:

'Broken Heartbeats'
'Death To Los Campesinos!'
'This Is How You Spell 'Ha Ha Ha We Destroyed The Hopes And Dreams Of A Generation Of Faux Romantics''
'The International Tweexcore Underground'
'My Year In Lists'
'...And We Exhale And Roll Our Eyes In Unison'
'You! Me! Dancing!'
'Knee Deep At ATP'
'Sweet Dreams Sweet Cheeks'
