The Little Ones encourage 'smoking the ganja' at SXSW

SoCal rockers preview brand new material

The Little Ones encourage 'smoking the ganja' at SXSW

The Little Ones brought their sunny California rock to their packed showcase tonight (March 14) at South by Southwest.

The Los Angeles five-piece got into the laid-back spirit of the evening, encouraging the audience to "smoke the ganja."

"I smell ganja and we encourage that," said frontman Ed Reyes, adding later "light them up."

The audience, enveloped in a cloud of smoke, cheered in response.

In addition to playing songs from 2006's 'Sing Song', the band previewed some brand new material, as well as a recent favourite.

"This is a new song we just wrote today called 'Ordinary Song'," Reyes joked, before playing the upbeat, poppy number.

The jovial singer also recounted one of his first experiences at the Austin festival.

"South by Southwest is crazy," he said. "Once when I was here I broke the record for doing tequila shots. I had 30, but I was only like 22."
